Getting through the last few weeks of pregnancy can seem nearly impossible. You are ready to deliver and in a very bad way! Don’t worry – you CAN make it. There is no need to wonder whether or not you will be pregnant forever, you will make it through and you will NOT be pregant forever!
A few things can really help. Remember you are NOT alone. I know that you don’t want to hear that his is not the first time a woman has made it through the ninth month and labor! This is YOUR pregnancy and labor and it is NOT easy I know!!
Keep a positive attitude. Eat right, and exercise if possible, even just walking 20-30 minutes 3 times a week. It will really help your body when it is time to give birth. No one labor is the same and you will be okay. There a lots of other women out there right now going through and have gone through the same stage that you are in – and YES, you WILL make it through!
When you start to find yourself being really frustrated about the final month of pregnancy – remind yourself that soon you will be holding your wonderful bundle of joy. You can dwell on all things positive about the stage that you are in and deny any thoughts that pop-up by rejecting them before you have time to marinate on them at all. You are a Super Star – you do not need to give up hope now – you have made it so far and you have so much to offer. Feel free to pat yourself on the back – you deserve it! There are so many much more difficult conditions you could have and they wouldn’t produce such a wonderful gift as a baby!
If you are experiencing pain, it is a great idea to use this time to practice your breathing and relaxation techniques for labor. You will find that is not as easy as you thought it was in class!
You and baby are well on your way to the finish line.
Run the labor through your mind focusing on all the tactics you will be using and what you want to happen during the pregnancy – remind yourself and others of your wishes – make sure they are written down and given to all that will be involved with the labor. Congratulations Mom! You are almost ready to see your sweet blessing! I am TRULY thrilled for you!
